Linda and Nick Jarvis formed Jarvis Sports in the summer of 1983 in Guisborough, Cleveland. Both were ex England No1 Senior and Junior players. Nick had worked closely with a number of table tennis manufacturers especially the world famous Stiga company who had sponsored him as a player.

In those early days all day to day running of the company was dome manually. Ordering, invoicing, accounting and mailings had to be done by hand or typed (no computers), a massive undertaking.

 
It took two years for Jarvis Sports to become a mainline mail order table tennis company supplying at first:- Stiga, Butterfly, TSP, Sunflex and chinese products. Jarvis Sports signed with Donic in late 1984 and became the exclusive UK distributor for Donic table tennis products

The Donic brand went from strength to strength using the Jarvis Sports services:-

1. Supply and hire of equipment to tournaments
2. Bat testing evenings
3. Sponsorship of players
4. Sound professional advice
5. Friendly reliable service with the vast majority of orders sent out the day they were ordered

In 1986 Jarvis Sports moved to Guildford in Surrey. Linda's sister Sue Henderson joined the company, herself an ex England Junior and Senior International and club coach.

In 1992 Jarvis Sports signed exclusive UK distribution with the Yasaka company, famous for Mark V.

Over the next few years Jarvis Sports concentrated on developing its relationship with players in local leagues and made a significant contribution to the senior and junior National tournament circuit.

Donic and Yasaka equipment is used at many prestigous tournaments. Jarvis Sports help a large number of talented players giving them sponsorship.

In 1999 Reg and Bing joined Jarvis Sports, the company moved to Rochester, Kent.

Jarvis Sports prides itself with having an in house delivery service of table tennis tables guaranteeing safe and quick delivery of tables.
